Sounded at noon in 29 1/2 fathoms, muddy bottom. A rapid drift to west being indicated by the lead line.
Disagreeable weather. Brisk east wind all day, with falling barometer and slowly increasing temperature, 
stationary after 6pm. Sky overcast with occasional fog and mist, and after noon much driving snow by 
the wind from the surface of the floe.
Crew engaged in general work of clearing up about ship.
