Sounded at noon in 29 1/2 fathoms. Muddy bottom. No drift indicated by the lead line. 
Weather generally clear and pleasant. Light northerly airs veering to moderate easterly breezes and 
decreasing afterwards. Barometer slowly rising to noon and slowly falling afterwards. Corresponding rise 
and fall in temperature. Water sky much smaller in amount than yesterday.
Crew engaged in securing auxiliary steam pump in new position, and engineer's force engaged in 
preparing the new forgings and fittings for wind mill.
