distilling.

Sounded at noon in 33 1/2 fathoms. Muddy bottom. A drift to N.N.W. indicated by the lead line. Lowered 
the dredge, obtained some small mollusks and other specimens.
Commenced taking down deck house. Painting inside galley house.
Generally overcast and gloomy. South-easterly veering to south-westerly winds, slowly falling, followed 
by a slowly rising barometer, and regularly varying temperature.
