The steam cutter's boiler is used for distilling. Sounded in 37 fathoms. Muddy bottom. No perceptible drift. Weather dull and gloomy with a nearly continuous fall of snow. Light easterly and S.E. breezes with steady barometer and very pleasant temperature. Moon 7° S. First quarter
