The steam cutter's boiler is used for distilling. Sounded in 31 1/2 fathoms. Muddy bottom. A slight drift to S.S.E. being indicated by the lead line. Weather very dark, dull and gloomy. Steady and steadily freshening W.N.W. breeze, with slightly falling barometer and uniform temperature. Very light snow continued to fall all day. Moon 5° N. Full moon
