The steam cutter's boiler is used for distilling. Sounded in 32 fathoms. Muddy bottom. A slight drift to west being indicated by the lead line. Weather generally dull and gloomy. Light variable airs freshening to N.W. breezes, with steady barometer and rising temperature, and very light snow at end of day. Moon 10° N. Full moon
