The pumping is done as required by hand at the quarter deck bilge pump. 
Sounded in 37 fathoms. Muddy bottom. A slight drift to S.E. x S. being indicated by the lead line. 
Lowered and hauled the dredge.
Foggy and misty weather during the forenoon, and except for a few moments in the afternoon the sky 
was entirely overcast until midnight. Light N.E. air slowly falling barometer and pleasant temperature.

Surface temperature = 35° - Specific gravity = 1.003 at 46°
2 fathoms = 31° - Specific gravity = 1.0239 at 45°
36 fathoms = 31° x - Specific gravity = 1.0262 at 45° x Miller-Casella No 24403
