The steam cutter's boiler is used for distilling. Sounded in 85 1/2 fathoms. Muddy bottom. A slight drift south being indicated by the lead line. Weather dull and gloomy with considerable fog. Light airs, generally from north with slightly rising barometer and comfortable temperature. Sunrise cloudy. Sunset cloudy. At midnight very heavy water sky between S.E. and S.W. Moon 13° S. Full moon
