The steam cutter's boiler is used for distilling. Sounded in 31 1/2 fathoms. Muddy bottom. A slight drift to N.W. being indicated by the lead line. Weather dull and gloomy. Light variable airs, slightly rising barometer and pleasant temperature. Moon 21° N. First quarter
