The steam cutter's boiler is used for distilling. Sounded in 25 1/2 fathoms. Muddy bottom. No drift being indicated by the lead line. Weather generally bright and pleasant. Light variable airs, rising barometer and falling temperature. Moon 4° N. Last quarter
