The steam cutter's boiler is used for distilling. Sounded in 31 fathoms. Muddy bottom. A rapid drift to W. being indicated by the lead line. Cloudy and gloomy weather, with occasional light snow. Brisk easterly breezes, with falling barometer and increasing temperature. Moon 23° N. Full moon
