The steam cutter's boiler is used for distilling. Sounded in 29 fathoms. Mud and fine sand. No drift being indicated by the lead line. Weather dull and gloomy. Calms and light airs, with light snow, rising barometer and slightly falling temperature. Moon 10° S. First quarter
